January 12, 2020, 10:00AM - 3:00PM
How would you like to begin your journey into 2020 with renewed intentions? You are invited to join us for a very special all day holistic healing experience. At the Sankalpa Retreat we will explore the best practices for a healthier mind, body and spirit. This includes a deep dive into positive thinking, responsible movement, better nutrition, setting your intentions, sound healing, chakra tuning, meditiation, sharing and more.
How will Sankalpa unfold? Prior to embarking on a journey, some of us prefer to know some of the landmarks on the way. We are delighted that you are keen to join us on Sankalpa, an exploration of well-being. Set on 11 lush acres, Dovecot Farm is a stunningly beautiful private equestrian retreat in Loxahatchee Groves. Bathe yourself in Nature's healing energy as you enter the New Year on a positive path.
As you drive through to Dovecot Farm you will notice that there are no street or traffic lights along the roads. You will be entering a small rural community, one where the roads are dusty, there are birds fishing in the canal system, life seems a little slower here. Once you have entered the gates to the farm, you will be enveloped by a deep sense of serenity. Home to horses, donkeys, cats and many birds, Dovecot Farm exudes peace.
At this unique wellness retreat, we promise a safe container, far away from all the business that life presents. Take a deep breath of gratitude, feeling appreciative that you are taking the time to carve self-care in your 2020 diary. Our 12th January Sankalpa retreat is a time for re-connection, both with the land around us, as well as ourselves. We will learn tips for building resilience, we will develop practices that will become rituals, we will celebrate mindful moments for ceremony.
References to Sankalpa date back 3000 years to the ancient Sanscrit epic stories, myths and poems in India. In today’s busy lives, Sankalpa is just as meaningful and relevant. In Sanscrit, the word Sankalpa is more a spiritual practice, less a destination. The word ‘san’ signifies a greater connection to the highest truth. The word ‘kalpa’ means a sacred vow.
Sankalpa is co-hosted by Brian Hetrich and Dovecot Farm’s Founder Sarah Palmer. Our retreat is a collaboration between Brian’s holistic lifestyle approach and Sarah’s compassionate leadership philosophy. We will integrate our dual styles to co-create, sharing Sankalpa 7 Threads. Through Journaling in nature around the herd, we will cultivate our heart-centered Sankalpa.
We will embark on a sound healing journey, a form of meditation to tune our seven chakras. By walking in silent meditation, we will take in the sights and sounds of a very special sanctuary. By learning intentional breathwork techniques, we will become more harmonious in all our interactions, with others and our self.
Our program will integrate an experiential plant-based workshop with emphasis on learning how to grow your own living foods.
Our retreat finale takes the shape of the Fire ceremony. At sunset fire ritual is an ancient one. By honoring the day’s lessons and releasing old patterns that no longer serve us, Sankalpa will be amplified. With gratitude, we will offer our mantras to the Dovecot Farm cauldron.
